Hypocrisy Of A Boycott
It likely took a simple Google search for journalists and bloggers to out several of the keynote speakers at a Quebec conference for boycotting Israel as supporters of hate speech and violence. Conference organizers must have done at least that much research before they invited these ani-Semitic weirdos to represent them. And the people attending the conference, particularly those associated with public organizations, ought to have done this minimal investigation as well.
Let's assume the conference organizers and participants are not complete idiots, particularly since many of them come from the realm of academia. Barring a public statement repudiating their association with this even, we have to assume their participation denotes affinity with the boycott movement's aims.
What are those aims? The singling out and deligitimization of the Middle East's only Western democracy, which provides equal civil rights to both Arabs and Jews within its territory. This, while all of the nations bordering Israel are actually guilty of precisely the sort of discrimination and persecution of minorities that boycotters condemn Israel for; not least, the ongoing persecution of Palestinians in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt.
Go ahead and Google that, too.
